10,000 Instagram followers It’s a frequent social media milestone that organizations strive for while developing a brand. To some, attaining this grade indicates that you have the potential to be a significant online influencer in your sector.

However, with the development of influencer marketing, Instagram users occasionally buy lists of potential followers in the expectation that at least a part of these individuals would pay attention to their account. However, particularly in a B2B corporate scenario, purchasing a list might result in low-quality traffic to your website, as well as unforeseen repercussions such as a greater bounce rate, less time spent on pages, and bad-fit prospects.

Growing your social following organically is a more safer (and more rewarding) method. Members of your target audience will share your material, and you will have more opportunity to convert or nurture qualified leads who are truly interested in what you’re selling.

Here are some easy ways to get to 10,000 Instagram followers without purchasing them!

1. Experiment to discover your voice.

If you’ve been posting on Instagram for a long and aren’t receiving the social traction you want, try something new! Change the sort of stuff you’re uploading, and change the tone of your captions. Then look at the stats to see what material people are engaging with. You may also look at businesses on social media that you want to replicate and include a few unique concepts. Once you’ve determined the material and voice that your viewers respond to the most, keep it up!

PMG PRO TIP: Experiments are only valuable if you take the time to figure out what works and what doesn’t. To that purpose, switching to a business account may be beneficial. Instagram for Business provides benefits that your personal account does not, such as detailed performance metrics, insights into your followers, and advertising opportunities.

2. Maintain your brand identity.

True, too much experimenting might stymie your following’s growth. Every now and again, I’m guilty of going “off-brand.” As an illustrator, I get bored creatively at times, so I try something new with my style for a brief period of time… and I lose fans. Consistency is key to building a strong brand. People who have been following you for a long time start to expect something specific from you—something they appreciate!

While including new forms of material is crucial (you never know when you’ll come across a gold nugget), once you’ve found your specialty, don’t stray too far from it without a well-thought-out approach.

3. Take action.

Are you on Instagram? Do you routinely like other people’s images, leave comments on them, and interact with their content? This is a terrific approach to start getting noticed, especially if those postings are closely followed by individuals in your target market. However, if you are very active, Instagram’s algorithms may mistake you for a spamming bot and penalize you. There are a lot of unpleasant people out there that automate random comments to appear on influencer channels with URLs to their websites, etc. We even see it on the PMG blog and promptly delete it. The crucial objective here is to maintain a frequent—but socially acceptable—level of connection.

4. Don’t follow only to be followed.

It’s tempting, but don’t do it. If I see someone with 7,450 followers but follows 7,500 individuals (thanks to commenter Andrew for pointing me the right figures here), it typically means their material isn’t genuinely high-quality—and they’re just attempting to inflate their follower count by clicking every follow button they come across. Building an engaged audience takes time and patience. If you actually have a social media plan for your B2B company, following people for the sake of their following you back will not provide the desired outcomes.

5. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

On Instagram, everything might start to feel phony. Is that person’s life truly perfect? Who has such a spotless kitchen? Don’t be scared to be yourself and generate material that others can connect with. People can be won over by emphasizing your company’s idiosyncrasies. While filtered to some extent, adding user-generated content, third-party information, or even employee remarks will give insight on what your company values and prioritizes. If you’re comfortable with video, consider using the Instagram Stories function to display your corporate culture or your distinct personality.

PMG PRO TIP: With or without the user’s audio, your Instagram Story should make sense. According to a HubSpot poll, just 29% of users who watch Instagram Stories “always” watch with the sound on. Captions/subtitles are one method to guarantee your message is communicated in any case!

6. Don’t exaggerate your accomplishments.

So you’ve received an award. That’s fantastic, and you should absolutely write about it. Simply avoid posting solely awards, certificates, and reviews. Similarly, don’t spend too much time talking about your product or service and why it’s fantastic. In reality, spend relatively little time doing so. People aren’t following your Instagram account purely for commercial stuff.

They want to see a side of you or your company that makes you look human. They want to be motivated artistically, and they want to laugh!

7. Make timely content available.

Staying up to date on current events, industry news, and pop culture will help you increase interactions with your account. Keep an eye out for what is new or hot and how you might use it on your page. Is there a new viral meme? Consider how you may customize it to meet your brand or specialization. Is there something in the news that is relevant to your industry? Write a post for your blog with your unique twist and promote it on your social networks (including Instagram!)

Taking advantage of current events and internet trends may help you gain more eyes on your material, especially if you include relevant hashtags.

8. Determine influencers and communicate with them.

Discover and follow the top influencers in your field of expertise. Keep an eye out for what they publish and what others comment in the captions. Then join the discussion. People who are following and talking with you are most likely in your target demographic, and if you reply to something they say, you could just get a new follower!

PMG PRO TIP: Still not sure where to start? Influencer marketing on Instagram should be viewed as part of a larger strategy that extends beyond social media. We recommend following an approach similar to these 4 steps that we have laid out for your business blog: How to Find Bloggers In Your Industry – And Interact With Them!

9. View your Instagram from above.

Take a step back and look over your Instagram in general (you know, the page that has all of the squares on it). What isn’t there? Does it appear to be cohesive? Make sure all of your photographs are on-brand and look decent, that you have Instagram highlights set up, and that all of your bio information is up to date with hashtags and a link to your website or related material.

10. Promote your Instagram on other platforms.

If you already have a significant following on another social site, make sure those fans are aware of your Instagram account as well! You should also generate traffic to your Instagram by marketing your channel on your website! Among the many techniques to cross-promote are:

  • Including Instagram photographs from your page in your newsletter
  • Including Instagram photographs from your page in your blog posts
  • Including a link to your Instagram account in your email signature
  • Including your Instagram handle in the bio of your other social network accounts
  • Connecting your Instagram to Twitter and Facebook so that it broadcasts on all three platforms

When you reach 10,000 followers, there is surprisingly little excitement, but by following these principles and keeping them in mind, you’ll be on your path to genuine Instagram growth.
